In 2003, the USPS honored The Nation's Capital and the District of Columbia in Stamp form. This sheet of 16 postage stamps are in MINT condition, still in the USPS glassine envelope from the post office! The stamps depict four things... The top quadrant shows a miniaturized map of downtown Washington, D.C. with the Mall, the White House and the Capitol. To the left is the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and the Nation's Capitol in the distance. To the right we see a group of typical "Row Houses" found in upscale neighborhoods of Washington, D.C. and at the bottom... The Capital's springtime favorite, Cherry Blossoms! These stamps are of the 37 ¢ variety and this sheet sold at the post office for $5.92 For the record, these are of the "Peel and Stick" variety and not of the "Gummed" type.
